Profile
Amal Ameen Almehain is an interior architect, graphic designer and fashion consultant, and the founder of Triple Trend Design House.
Art within the Family
The arts fascinated her from an early age, and her refined creative instinct led her to specialise in the field. She studied interior architecture at Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts, excelled academically and graduated with strong results. At the same time, she learned graphic design through the computer programmes included in her course. Her love of fashion remained present throughout her studies, and her taste and artistic sensibility influenced every part of her life. Bringing those interests together became central to her later success.
Founding the Venture in 2004
Although she graduated in interior architecture, her professional life encompassed all three disciplines. Immediately after university, she approached government and private organisations and offered her services for a nominal fee so that she could build experience and a client base. She saved what she earned for two years, then established her own company. In 2004, she began in a small office with a team of three. Sustained work and passion allowed the business to expand gradually until it became firmly established.
Entering the World of Fashion
She believes that the principles behind a business are the foundation of its success. Dedication, in her view, must come before financial return, and the rewards of hard work should not be taken before their time. She therefore began with careful, measured steps. Her passion for fashion, together with the experience and cultural insight gained through travel, encouraged her to create a distinctive venture in the field. Because she valued specialisation and sought originality, she studied the Qatari market for eighteen months to identify international brands that were not yet available locally. She then contacted companies abroad and travelled to several countries to meet suppliers and learn about both established and emerging labels. With God’s grace and sound management, she earned the confidence of experts who offered advice and guidance.
Three Disciplines under One Vision
Confidence in her abilities and a willingness to trust her judgement enabled her to take on a difficult market. In 2014, she opened a boutique carrying thirty international brands; that figure eventually grew to 120 brands under one roof, with more than one point of sale in Doha. She soon became one of Qatar’s prominent businesswomen through a company operating across related areas of her passion: interior architecture, plan design and engineering supervision, and graphic design. Its services included corporate and institutional identities and logos, as well as strategic planning and the definition of clients’ visions and goals. She also became a recognised figure in fashion, designing her own stores. One was named Qatar’s best clothing store and received an award for customer service, reflecting the care shown to clients and the speed of response to their requests. Her other distinctions included being named an influencer in luxury in 2020 and serving as a Lexus Qatar ambassador.
Facing the Blockade and the Pandemic
The combination of personal commitment and a refined sense of fashion established her reputation in fashion and beauty. She set clear values for dealing with customers and required her staff to follow them, foremost among them doing everything reasonably possible to satisfy the client and remaining flexible when challenges required swift, intelligent solutions. She monitored the smallest details of her projects herself rather than delegating that responsibility. Her reliability in meeting delivery and receipt dates earned both respect and customer trust.
