Profile

Sheikh Faleh bin Ghanem Abdulrahman Al Thani is a Qatari businessman, artistic producer and owner of a group of investment companies. A significant part of his work has focused on artistic production, support for young talent, theatre and live events.

Childhood and Family

His varied achievements and successive successes did not prevent him from building a stable family characterised by affection and harmony, with two sons and two daughters.

A Passion for Sport

He loved sport from childhood, and his ability in football became apparent at preparatory school. A teacher noticed his talent and suggested that he join Al-Wakrah Sports Club. Despite the objections of a father who feared football might distract him from education, he entered the youth side, trained consistently and progressed to the first team.

The Beginnings of Investment

He entered business at an early age through modest ventures. After establishing both a path and a name in the market, he expanded into larger companies able to compete and excel. He founded a group of businesses, with artistic production—particularly Tethkar Company—forming a major part of the portfolio. Other investments included jewellery, restaurants and car rental.

Tethkar and Artistic Production

He also served as Head of Staff at Al-Wakrah Sports Club. In time, however, he recognised that sport required sustained attention and had to choose between club responsibilities and investment. He devoted his principal effort and resources to investment while remaining a loyal supporter of the club. Although he no longer held a formal sporting role, he maintained strong relationships with Al-Wakrah and its athletes.

Challenges and Service to the Public

Sheikh Faleh faced the pressures of a demanding and competitive field. Some projects failed and caused substantial losses, but strong management, determination and a long-term outlook enabled him to learn from mistakes and continue. The happiness his work brought to others mattered greatly to him; service to people and society remained a central motivation. He also welcomed constructive criticism and used it to avoid repeating errors.
